Shelley Schulberg, M.A. Counselling Psychology
Registered Clinical Counsellor and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner

Welcome, and thank you for viewing my webpage.  I’m glad you are here.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner with Somatic Experiencing International.  For the past 18 years I have worked with individuals across the age span in a variety of mental health and addictions support settings – including private practice, clinical work with Island Health (including risk assessment and work with high risk individuals), Child and Youth Mental Health (MCFD), and non-profit community counselling organizations.

At the heart of my work is a client-centred, trauma-informed approach.  Building relationships, promoting safety, and empowering individuals is central to my work.  I greet my clients with warmth, gentleness, compassion, and acceptance.  Many individuals I work with consider themselves to be neurodivergent, empaths, or highly sensitive people.  It is an honour to walk alongside individuals from the BIPOC and LGBTQ2S+ communities as and ally and support.

Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my family, particularly with my two school-aged children.  I can be found crafting, getting my hands muddy in the pottery studio, planning my next travels, and enjoying the beauty of Victoria, the beautiful traditional territory of the Lekwungen people.  I am committed to keeping my skills up to date, and enjoy being a life-long learner.

Please contact me for a free 30 minute in-person, telephone, or video consultation.  Together, let’s explore your concerns, needs, and goals.
