At Resilient Roots Counselling, we offer trauma-informed, compassionate care that honours each person’s pace, experiences, and strengths. At the same time, our work focuses on supporting nervous system regulation, emotional resilience, balance and real, lasting change – not just getting through the day, but building greater steadiness and capacity to navigate life’s difficulties.
We provide counselling for youth (ages 10+) and adults, with in person sessions in Victoria, BC, and secure video and telephone options throughout British Columbia.

Trauma Healing
Specializing in trauma counselling for youth and adults, we support people in understanding and healing the impacts of overwhelming experiences and chronic stress.
Trauma can occur when the nervous system has experienced an event – or a series of events – that overwhelms a person’s ability to cope. For example, this may include accidents, medical procedures, illness, abuse, loss, not having had our needs met, loss, major life transitions, and ongoing stress.
As a result, people may experience anxiety, panic, low mood, flashbacks, difficulty sleeping, emotional reactivity, hypervigilance, racing thoughts, muscle tension, low energy, exhaustion, disconnection, addictions, or chronic pain.
Our trauma work integrates approaches such as Somatic Experiencing and EMDR therapy, helping the nervous system process overwhelming experiences, reduce symptoms, and restore stability.

Individual Counselling
Individual counselling offers a supportive and non-judgement space where you can feel heard, respected, and understood. Here, every part of you is welcome.
At the heart of this work is a safe therapeutic relationship that supports meaningful and lasting change.
We specialize in supporting individuals navigating challenges such as:
- Low mood, depression, suicidal thoughts
- Worry, anxiety, panic, OCD
- Trauma, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and early developmental trauma
- ADHD and neurodivergence
- Anger, shame, low self-esteem
- Stress, overwhelm, and feeling stuck
- Life transitions, relationship difficulties, boundaries, and work-life balance

Couples Therapy
Are you experiencing conflict, disconnection, or patterns that feel difficult to change? Challenges such as communication breakdowns, loss of trust, differences in needs or values, and ongoing stress can leave couples feeling stuck or misunderstood.
In couples therapy we work together to strength emotional safety and increase awareness of relational patterns. At the same time, we focus on building healthier communication and problem-solving skills.
Sessions provide a structured yet compassionate space where both partners can feel heard and supported, while developing tools to build a stronger more connected relationship.
